Chief Conductor of the Berliner Symphoniker, Maestro Lior Shambadal maintains an active career as an artistic leader, composer and pedagogue throughout Europe, Asia, Israel, and South America.

He has held post as Music Director of the Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogota (OFB), Colombia (2009-2010); Music Director of the Pfalztheater in Kaiserslautern, Germany (1993-2000) and Chief Conductor of the RTV Symphony Orchestra in Ljubljana (2000-2003), Chief Conductor of the Haifa Symphony Orchestra (2008-2010) and the Kibbutz Chamber Orchestra in Tel Aviv (1986-1993).

Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, he has studied with acclaimed conductors Hans Swarowsky, Carlo Mario Giulini, Igor Merkevitch, Sergiu Celibidache and Franco Ferrara and composers Witold Lutoslawski and Henri Dutilleaux.

He has appeared with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Dutch Radio Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonic of Montpellier, Orchestre Philharmonic du Strasburgh, Arts Academy-Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma, Orchesre de la Suisse Romande Metropolitan Orchestra, Ermitage Chamber Orchestra, St. Petersburg, and most of the major orchestras in Germany, Hong Kong, Korea, Mexico, Argentina, North America.

Maestro Shambadal regularly leads masterclasses throughout Asia, Europe and both North and South America. He is regarded as one of the leading conducting pedagogues in the world.
